Earlier I posted a commercial for the '86 Ford Taurus, and then I found this one for the Ford Aerostar. It's just like the shuttle!
My family had a 93 model and I don't think I'd ever say it was aerodynamic.

I rode in one once, and I'll say they're roomy, but not aerodynamic at all.

My parents owned a 1986 Aerostar XLT identical to the one in the commercial down to the paint and even the wheels.
It was a good car but suffered horribly from being a first year Ford.
As for it's aerodynmaics, I suspect it had a better CD than pretty much anything else that could carry that much even if you ignore it's capable tow rating.

No they're not terribly aerodynamic, but it's much more so than my '74 F250, and my '93 has a factory 5sp manual to boot! Still chugging along daily with over 207k (had 140k when I bought it).....not bad for $600!
